Vacancy – General Manager

YUST combines short and long-term stays, events, food and culture, located in creative and emerging neighbourhoods.  

We’re looking for a driven and lively general manager (GM) to take the lead in our brand-new location, YUST Liège; a building with 100 rooms (short stay and long stay), a restaurant and bar, multiple event spaces and meeting rooms. Ready to take on this challenge? Keep reading.

ARE YOU THE ONE WE’RE LOOKING FOR? 

YUST is a unique hospitality concept, so we’re looking for an equally unique GM who, together with the Operations Manager and Food & Events Manager, will ensure the smooth running of our concept.

Within your role, you will play a key part in the opening and will be responsible for every aspect of the hotel operations from 4-5 months prior to opening and of course after. From managing the team to managing our external partners; housekeeping, maintenance, and suppliers. This ain’t your average hotel manager job.

Pre-opening:

• Together with the sales & marketing manager you’ll oversee the selection of partners and local partnerships
• You’ll assist the sales manager in pre-sales
• You’ll oversee and manage the opening of the hotel and restaurant, selecting the heads of departments and the operational team
• You’ll play a key role in hiring and training the operational team

Post-opening:

• You’ll drive sales and manage financial and operational results of both our housing and food department
• HR management
• You’ll manage legal flows
• You’ll organising weekly and monthly meetings with the operational team
• You’ll analyse financial reports and reporting them to the right department head
• You’ll hire, lead, coach and train the entire team

WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU?

• You have experience as a General Manager, Assistant General Manager or Operations Manager, within the hospitality sector
• You have a minimum of 2 years’ experience at hotel management level, and a minimum of 5 years in the hotel industry
• You’re commercially minded and have some sales and revenue management experience
• You’re sociable and are a real people person, you’re always ready to help with a big smile
• You have a lively personality and have some great jokes in your repertoire
• You’re independent, dynamic and have the drive to make YUST Liège a success
• Stressful peak periods? You’re not phased and stay cool as a cucumber
• You speak NL-FR-ENG
• You are young by heart
