Vacancy – Operations Manager

YUST combines short and long-term stays, events, food and culture, located in creative and emerging neighbourhoods.  

We’re looking for a driven and lively operations manager (OM) to take the lead in our brand-new location, YUST Liège, together with the general manager. A building with 100 rooms (short stay and long stay), a restaurant and bar, multiple event spaces and meeting rooms. Ready to take on this challenge? Keep reading.

ARE YOU THE ONE WE’RE LOOKING FOR? 

Together with the general manager you are responsible for every aspect of the hotel’s operations and this goes way beyond old school reception duties. As the operations manager you will lead, motivate and train the hotel team in a fun and YUST way. You’ll also be the go-to person for the external partners who take care of housekeeping and maintenance.

Pre-opening:

• You’ll assist the general manager in operational tasks
• You’ll play a key role in training the operational team
• You’ll co-manage the opening of the hotel
• You’ll set up all OTAs
• You’ll write the SOPs needed to run the hotel

Post-opening:

• Organising weekly meetings with the front office team
• Together with the general manager, you will recruit, lead, coach, and train the front office team
• Creating the monthly team schedule
• Analysing financial reports and ensuring targets are achieved
• Inventory management – ordering all hotel supplies & managing the stock
• Managing the housekeeping department & technical department
• Assisting our long stay/sales department: invoicing, drawing up and following up contracts and invoices, guided visits etc.
• You’re responsible for the guest experience, room checks, dealing with complaints, managing online reviews etc.

WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU?

• You have a minimum of one year experience in a team leadership role and 2 years of hospitality experience
• You’re sociable and a real people person, you’re always ready to help with a big smile
• You have strong organisational skills and are technically able to help keep the building in check
• You’re a team player with a positive mentality
• You’re pro-active and you’re not afraid to take initiative
• Stressful peak periods? You’re not phased and stay cool as a cucumber.
• You can lead a team and are be able to delegate when needed
• FR-ENG is a must, NL a plus
• You have some roots in Liège and always know the right person to call
• You have an affinity with our concept
• You are young by heart
