Olivier Hoffait is the Belgian artist better known under the homonym “Soke” and a member of the art collective “La Cabane”. He transforms images and portraits into eclectic scenes where figuration and abstraction are at the forefront. Strong colours, minimalist forms and thick lines characterise his paintings. For this graphic designer by profession, each canvas is the fruit of an idyllic encounter between a contemporary universe and a sharp visual dynamic. The multidisciplinary artist expresses himself mainly in large formats, including murals. Strong in faces with soft strokes, shadows and play of colours, his works reveal a contrasted composition and a wealth of influences.

For this exhibition called Cover, Soke presents a work based on the glamour of the feminine and sometimes masculine icons of the 50s.
