To kick off the 15 août celebrations YUST Liège is hosting a special rooftop party with traditional Péket.

What is Péket we hear you ask? Péket is a grain alcohol distilled in the region of the river Meuse from Maastricht to Namur, aromatised with juniper berries.

Legend has it that, Tchantchès, emblematic character of Liège folklore, could not bear the taste of water when he was younger. From then on, his adoptive parents showered him with péket: a grain alcohol at 40 degrees. Today Péket is largely available in the Meuse region in various delicious flavours.
