Dorothea Dejonckheere, 33 years old and living in Antwerp, works as an abstract artist.
Her work emerges from layers of paint and texture, within which organic forms slowly take shape. These forms serve as a visual diary, a translation of words and feelings that she cannot put into words.
Through her work, Dorothea aims to create a moment of tranquillity for the viewer: an invitation to pause, breathe and look mindfully. My paintings possess a poetic complexity, within which every viewer can discover their own story and meaning.
As someone who often experiences life in black and white, her practice serves as an essential haven of calm, a place where her thoughts slow down and her mind can find a moment’s peace.
Discover her art at the vernissage on 12 July from 5PM to 7PM.
